I’m thinking that means the actual music is by Glinka – but that Glinka wrote it to be performed by other instrumentation – and the piano “version” is by Balakirev. Well, it’s difficult in comparison to some pieces but not overly difficult.

I have the piano transcription, and I absolutely love it, however, it’s quite difficult to play! My piano teacher, who is Russian, told me she is thinking of giving “The Lark” to me to learn next.
